Campanions Info

This page will have some information about The Companions of the DragonLance Saga.

There were seven Companions, I'll list them and personal info about them below.

Tanis

Tanis is the leader of the companions. He isn't the perfect leader--he doesn't always do "the right thing." usually ends up making his decisions with his heart instead of with his head. He has deep friendships with all of the companions, especially Flint. Tanis was the product of a violent encounter between an elven woman and a human rapist. He was an unhappy youth who was disliked by most of the elven community simply because he was different. He fell in love with the elfmaid Laurana,and later left Qualinesti to go to Solace after meeting Flint. There he met the companions. He fell in love with Caramon and Raistlin's half-sister Kitiara. He was torn between his love for Laurana and Kitiara, which served as a constant reminder of his divided heritage. He later led the companions in the War of the Lance and played a key role in eliminating the Dark Queen's most powerful servant--the Dragon Highlord Ariakas. Later still, Tanis helped to fight the Chaos War. Sadly, he was killed by a barbarian in a battle at the High Clerist's Tower.

Sturm

All through his life, Sturm had to put up with the antics of Lord Boniface and Derek Crownguard. In his youth, Sturm was tormented by being locked in an abandoned castle, assaulted by assasins both human and draconian, and riding horses with faulty shoes. When Sturm was in possesion of the dragonorb, attempting to bring it to the Knights, Derek Crowngaurd questioned his honor on various accounts upon arrival. Sturm had always held true to his honor, even before he was accepted as a knight. After hearing the testimony from Laurana, Sir Gunthar accepted Sturm into the Knighthood in the lowest order. After Derek Crownguard died, Sturm became Lord of the Knights of the Crown for his final battle at the Tower of the High Clerist (or High Clerist Tower). Sturm's valiant life ended at the hands of Kitiara Uth Matar, who oddly was the mother of his child, Steel Brightblade. When Steel visited his father's tomb,Sturm granted him the legendary sword and the elven Starjewel given to him by Alhana Starbreeze of Silvanost.

Caramon

Caramon Majere is the brute strength of the Heroes of the Lance. Twin brother to Raistlin, he balances in strength what Raist has in intelligence. The brothers fight well together, mixing spell and steel. After the War of the Lance, Caramon married Tika Waylan. He lost control of his body in the years after the war, and turned into a babbling drunk. It was Raistlin who got the big man back in shape, taking him back in time and having him train to fight in the arena at Istar. Caramon always cared for his brother, taking any insults thrown his way in stride. He even tried to bring his brother back from the forces of evil when the twins travelled back in time. But Raistlin's ambition was too strong.
